Membership

With the new year upon us it is now time to pay membership for the coming year. All rates are published on our social media sites. Family Membership including our monthly Club Draw €150; Juveniles (born after 2005) €50; Adult Players €75; Adult non-player €50 Students €50. You can pay membership on-line at https://www.foireann.ie/   Southern Gaels operate under the one club model for hurling and camogie and both memberships can be paid on-line as can the Club Draw. Please pay you membership on time.

Club Shop
The club have secured a premises for a Club Shop in Blyry Industrial estate. Currently it is being stocked with gear and opening times will be advertised later.

GAA Draw Tickets
Tickets for the annual GAA Draw promoted by Croke Park are on sale through the club. All prizes are sponsored by Croke Park. All money raised goes directly to Southern Gaels camogie and hurling. Tickets cost €10 and are available from all committee members.

County teams
There are currently many of our players are involved with various county hurling squads. Cian McCarthy is on the Senior panel. Cian Geary and Johnny Martin have been selected for the Under 20 hurling panel. Aaron Hardiman , Oisin O Donoghue and Alex O Donovan are training with the Under 16 side. Dara Geary is with the Under 15 side and Daniel Crosbie is with the Under 14 team. Additionally, club members who also play football are involved with county football squads, Kyle Mahon (Under 18), Peter Bourke and Anthony Carroll King (Under 16) and Padraig O’Neill (Under 15). We wish all the best of luck for the coming year.

Bower Camogie
Hard luck to the Bower Junior camogie side who were defeated by Kilcock in their opening group game recently. It is great to see so many playing and enjoying the game in the school. Many thanks to Dermot Fitzgerald for his work in training the teams.

Return to training
Juvenile teams will return to training on Tuesday 27th February at the Regional Sports Centre Astro Turf pitches. There will be training for Under 12,  134, 16 and 18 both girls and boys for camogie and hurling teams. Slots will be available between 6.00 and 8.00. More details will be available later. League matches for hurling will start the week of Monday March 25th.
Adult hurlers will return shortly and begin their year with a challenge away to Roscommon Gaels Saturday February 24th. The League begins on the weekend of March 16th. Southern Gaels will play in Division Two with seven games. There will be adult teams fielded in the Championship at both Intermediate and Junior B levels.
